Membership Benefits

1. To receive assistance and support from the Association in matters related to the objectives of the Association, as far as the Association can provide.
2. To offer opinions or provide recommendations to the Association or the Board of Directors on any matters within the objectives of the Association, for the prosperity of the Association.
3. To request an inspection of the Associations operations or assets by submitting a written request to the Secretary-General or a Board member acting on behalf of the Secretary.
4. To participate in meetings, discuss, express opinions, question the Board members, and propose motions at the General Meeting of members.
5. Only ordinary members have the right to vote at the General Meeting and to be elected as Board members.

Membership Types

The members of the Association are divided into three categories, with the following qualifications, and are duly registered in accordance with the law.

1. Ordinary Member: A legal entity engaged in the business of air freight forwarding, duly registered in accordance with the law.
2. Associate Member: A legal entity primarily engaged in providing customs clearance services for air imports/exports, duly registered in accordance with the law.
3. Honorary Member: An individual whom the Board of Directors considers to be qualified or has rendered distinguished service to the Association. Membership is granted upon a resolution of the Board and acceptance of the invitation by the individual.

Membership Qualifications

Membership Qualifications

Members must meet the following criteria :

1. Not bankrupt.
2. Financially stable.
3. Paid-up registered capital of not less than 5,000,000 THB (Five Million Baht).
4. Primarily engaged in air freight forwarding business.

• Recognized in the air cargo industry for at least 2 years.
• Have documented air export sales (Cargo Sales Report) for at least the past 6 months.
• Have personnel and/or outsourced resources to operate as a Thai air freight forwarding agent.

5. Have an established office for business operations.

6. Must have no legal violations.

7. Have the right to vote.

8. Must not act as a GSA or CSSA for any single airline and must not be an exporter.

Note: Approved applicants will first be granted Associate Member status for a minimum period of one year. If they wish to become Ordinary Members, they must submit a formal request for consideration to upgrade their membership.

Membership Application

Those who wish to apply for membership in the Association must submit a formal application to the Secretary-General or a Board member acting on behalf of the Secretary-General using the prescribed application form, along with the following supporting documents :

1. Completed TAFA Membership Application form (1 copy).
2. Copy of the Certificate of Incorporation issued by the Ministry of Commerce (not older than 90 days).
3. Copy of the Memorandum of Association.
4. Copy of the Commercial Registration.
5. Copy of the VAT Registration Certificate (Por.Por.20).
6. Financial statements showing the companys financial position.
7. Copies of certifications:

• DGR Certificate (1 copy)
• Basic Cargo Certificate (1 copy)

8. Copies of identification:

• ID Card / House Registration of the Managing Director.

9. Letters of recommendation:

• From 2 IATA member airlines, confirming that the applicant has used services through the appointed agent or GSA of the airline for at least 6 months.
• From 2 Ordinary Members, confirming that the applicant has conducted business with or used the services of those members for at least 1 year.

Additional Documents

• Corporate Income Tax Return (Por Ngor Dor 50) for the past 3 years.
• Cargo Sales Report for the past 6 months to 1 year.
